1 Scope
1.1 General
This standard applies to the design, construction, and installation of ambient temperature loop
(ATL) systems that circulate tempered water or water-based heat transfer fluid to integrate with
heat sources and sinks and meet the heating and cooling demands of the buildings served by the
system. (See Figure 1 for an example of a simplified ATL schematic.)
1.2 Alternative Materials/Construction Methods
The requirements of this Standard are not intended to prevent the use of alternative materials
or methods of construction provided such alternatives meet the intent and requirements of this
Standard.
